Artist communicate through their artwork-
How I expressed myself through this artwork was simple, nothing big. I made it look like I was wearing makeup. I made it to where you can see that I'm wearing top eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara. I also added my noise piercing in my self portrait. As you can tell by my previous artwork, I'm really into makeup. After high school I plan on going to Paul Mitchell's for cosmetology. I didn't think that I could I could do it but at the end I was pretty proud of this piece. Artist reflects- Before I started on my final piece I started to plan it out. I didn't want it to look like I was dead and boring so I planned on making my eyes not look naked. When I was sketching it out I realized I learned how to draw/ shade eyes, a mouth and a nose. But what I didn't learn was how to shade and make it look like I had eyeshadow on. So I practiced and made it look like it blended and wasn't just dark circles around my eyes. My prompt was to do thin and thick lines. I didn't know what to do with that but i made my background have some thin and some thick lines. Then I traced my hand, you can see the background through it, so where I drew the nails the back ground is the nail polish.
This week my prompt was texture. So I used tissue paper for the girls hair and also for the mirror. The white Tissue paper is for the lights around the Vanity mirror. A Vanity mirror is a mirror with or without a dest with bright lights so you can have better lighting.
This week I chose to do a collage. I made a collage with 2 pairs of eyes and an eye that I think are very pretty. Then I chose different words that make up is.
The two prompts I used this week was trace something that was in your pocket and my phone was in my pocket. So I made a texting conversation with a customer and a stylist since my theme is about Hair/Makeup (cosmetology). Then my second prompt was to draw with glue. So I just drew a girl out of glue.
The prompt I chose was to rewrite something over and over on the page. I chose to rewrite the word "BEAUTY" and also write it different ways. There are different ways to be pretty to many people. So that's what this page is saying.
